S.R.T Building and Tiling Specialists was formed in October 2005 initially as a Sole Trader to reflect the need for a market that lacks in high quality and high standards of workmanship. Many people today who have dreams and aspirations of turning their home into their dream palace don’t know where to start in finding the right people to make those dreams come true. They are never sure who to trust to do the work and even if the work is up to standard and above, for not only the right price but with the right finish you expect to see.

As a small family business we discovered through our experience that our Clients want to feel like we care about their project as much as they do, and because of this we formulated a system that really cares about our Clients and their needs and also allows our company to work fast and efficiently through higher levels of organisation and communication.

Now progressing on we have recently in October 2009 joined to a Partnership company with the introduction of a new partners skills and expertise. As one of the owners to this company I have faced 24 years of experience in the building trade starting with my apprenticeship in Germany where I lived and worked through my career until moving to England in March 2004 . My experience of standards of work that are taught in Germany, and are common practise, are the kind of standards of workmanship we felt were needed in the current market here in England.

I have gained many skills along the way with rigorous training for some of the harder elements of works. I managed many larger construction sites in Germany as well as smaller private clients, with as many as 50 men on various sites to organise and manage for my boss. My specialist area is tiling, as I was trained to degree level in Germany, I enjoy the great satisfaction in seeing the final product on display, which you don’t always get with the “behind the scenes” work on some projects. That however has never stopped me wanting to learn other areas of the trade and move forward to gain NVQ level 3 in Brickwork and site management here in England. I gained many skills along the way with high standards and high quality to include roof works and ground works and stud wall installation and carpentry skills for rafters or decking (external) works and much more.

I always look forward to the next challenge, as they are all different with so many different properties and ideas on how to improve.

Which leads me to the second owner to the business and my partner in this company, whom has lived in England all her life and has worked hard to manage and run at high management level other building companies in the area, before deciding it was time to improve our company and have a fuller range of services with her higher levels of office management skills. Gained through training in college to a-level standard business management and handwritten book-keeping courses, with computerised Sage line 50 accounts training and experienced office manager and PA to Directors of construction industry contractors, she is a highly motivated and organised person, together we produce fantastic results in organising, running, producing and protecting our sites, clients, staff and sub-contractors, using simple methods with clear professional workmanship.
